But they are someone's father, mother, sister or brother too...

Something that has been very dear to me is the ongoing issues of immigration. While reading up on it on CBSNEWS I found it so interesting that immigration has increased since the reccesion. I must say that I do not agree with the Government being allowed to impliment who is able to live in the US and who is not. I see it that people are people and are all equal no matter what race, or country they are from. Researchers have noticed that in Texas the number of immigrants have increased due to our strong economy. They also report that there are about 11 million immigrants here illegally. Steve Camarota the director of research at the Center for Immigration Studies advocates tighter policies because "The numbers remind us of the problem of illegal immigration isn't going away anytime soon, unless we take steps to enforce the laws or have legalization of those here illegally." If America is really a free country why are we denying these people freedom? I do not think it is right for the Government to tell us who is free and who is not to live in the United States, everyone should be equal. This article is worth reading becuase immigration is really something people do not think about on a day to day basis. Immigration should be adressed in a diffrent way. People should not have to "sneak through" a border partol just to start a free life.
